African American R&B singer, Toni Michelle Braxton was born on October 7, 1968 in Severn, Maryland. She performed with her four sisters, Traci, Trina, Towanda and Tamar, as The Braxtons, releasing their first single The Good Life in 1990. Unbreak My Heart written by Diane Warren, was the second single released from Toni’s second solo album Secrets, in the summer of 1996, and it was an enormous hit. It spent 11 weeks on top of the pop charts and won her the Grammy award for Best Female Pop Vocal in 1997.
