Originally Linda Rondstadt’s backing band, The Eagles are an American rock music group formed in Los Angeles, California in the early 1970s. Their success has been unquestionable, their 1976 greatest hits album becoming the biggest-selling album in US history, selling over 28 million copies. Their 1977 single “Hotel California” from the album of the same name acheived number 1 in the US, and number 8 in the UK. British/American rock band, Fleetwood Mac, was formed in 1967 by Peter Green, Danny Kirwan and Jeremy Spencer, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie. After Green and Spencer left, Bob Welch and keyboardist Christine McVie, wife of John McVie, joined, and when Welch left, American guitarist Lindsey Buckingham and singer/songwriter Stevie Nicks, completed the famous line-up. “Hold Me” was released from the successful album Mirage in 1982. The Swiss dance band Yello was originally formed by Boris Blank and Carlos Peron in the late 1970s, but millionaire playboy Dieter Meier joined as vocalist and Carlos Peron left in 1983 to pursue a solo career. Formed in 1967 Blood, Sweat & Tears was a Canadian-American jazz/psychedelic rock and roll group and were named after a Johnny Cash album. The original line-up included Al Kooper, Jim Fielder, Fred Lipsius, Randy Brecker, Jerry Weiss, Dick Halligan, Steve Katz, and Bobby Colomby. The single “Spinning Wheel”, written by David Clayton-Thomas, was released in 1969 from the “Blood, Sweat & Tears” album and peaked at no. 2 in the US charts.
