Originally Linda Rondstadt’s backing band, The Eagles are an American rock music group formed in Los Angeles, California in the early 1970s. Their success has been unquestionable, their 1976 greatest hits album becoming the biggest-selling album in US history, selling over 28 million copies. Their 1977 single “Hotel California” from the album of the same name acheived number 1 in the US, and number 8 in the UK.
