The American musician Tom Petty was born Thomas Earl Petty on 20th October 1950 in Gainesville, Florida. He began his recording career with the self-title album Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers in 1976. The 1979 single “Don’t Do Me like that” released from the Damn the Torpedoes album was a big success in the US acheiving no. 10 in the singles charts. Erma Vernice Franklin was born on 13th March 1938 and died from cancer on 7th September 2002.
