American singer, songwriter, record producer, and guitarist Lenny Kravitz was born Leonard Albert Kravitz in New York on 26th May 26 1964. His retro-style melange of rock, pop, funk, and techno has been heavily inspired by Prince, Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Stevie Wonder, Curtis Mayfield and Bob Marley. Kravitz is the son of Hollywood producer Sy Kravitz and Bahamian American actress Helen Willis. His 1991 album Mama Said reached the top 40 of the Billboard album charts and spawned the hit single “It Ain’t Over Til It’s Over”, which reached #2 on the charts and #10 on the Billboard R&B charts.
